ANNOUNCING OUR 2026 UPSTANDER T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST WINNER... AMAYA!!

Congratulations to AMAYA, a talented student in Kareen Leivent's class at the Staten Island School of Civic Leadership in NYC!

Ms. Leivent's students joined our Friend Mail Program this year, writing beautiful letters of encouragement for our May recipient, Vivienne. When the class learned about our Upstander T-Shirt Design Contest, they jumped right in: "It turned into such a fun and meaningful extension of the project. We're keeping our fingers crossed and hopeful for a win!"

Well... Ms. Leivent's class, you can uncross those fingers... because you have a WINNER!!

This year's contest was the 1st time we only accepted hand-drawn art - not created digitally. Judges loved the detail in Amaya's art, and the inclusive and heartwarming symbolism of making "kindness go around" the world by being a friend.

Amaya will receive a FREE t-shirt and hoodie featuring her winning artwork. And beginning August 1st, her inspiring design will be available in our online store in youth and adult sizes!

Congratulations, Amaya! We can't wait for everyone to wear your winning design!

RULES OF THIS YEAR'S CONTEST (Closed):

Are you a student between first grade and college? Have you ever dreamed of seeing your artwork in a store? Or even wearing it yourself? Now’s your chance!

Let your creativity take flight! Create artwork by hand that encourages students to stand against bullying. Here are the guidelines to follow:

Artwork can be created by hand using any medium (not accepting digital designs in 2026).
A white background is preferred for clarity.
Make sure to take clear pictures of your art. Photograph it from straight above. Avoid angles and shadows.

Submission Details

Submit a high-resolution picture or scan of your work to the form by Tuesday, June 30th:
